Some people don’t own a vehicle. Some people who own them find themselves in positions where they don’t have access to their own car. This could be while on a vacation, or while their car is being repaired. Some folks try to avoid long trips in their own car. They want to avoid the miles of wear and tear on their own vehicle. Businesses for which employees travel a lot have to pay mileage reimbursement. It’s up to over 50 cents each mile. That’s $50 daily for a 100 mile ride. A car rental from Dollar or Budget auto rental is only $20 each day, plus $12 for a few gallons of gas is still only $32 for that same 100 mile day. The Dollar car rental is the better choice in that example.
